Spatial Development Strategy for the Algarve Region

With the start of the review process of the Algarve Regional Plan of 1991, the CCDR (Algarve Regional Planning Authority) felt the need to develop a strategy for spatial development, in order to support of the whole review process.

The strategy focused on tourism as a key driver for the region, but also considered the diversification of the regional economy.

This strategy was the stepping stone to what became the core of the review of the Regional Plan, approved in 2006.
